Story
There are so many ways to tell a story, and this coat not only has a story of its own, but is a carrier of many stories and many perspectives. Each person who has had a part in the making of a patch, or has encountered this garment on its journey has a place in the story of the Coat of Hopes. Each has their own story to tell of it too. And before it became a material thing it existed as a story, which I and others set our intention to bring into physical reality.
To tell even the story that I know, in full is a task that I have not yet had the time and space for. You can catch glimpses of it in the Pilgrim Gallery where there is a photo of almost every person who wore the coat on its way North.
There, you can see how it grew, as week-by-week more patches were sewn into the coat. Often when I travel with the coat now, I tell the story as it comes to me on that occasion. The notion being that some seeds of solutions might be found in the story of the journey. In time, I will hope to get such a telling down here, in black and white. For now you will find plenty to watch, read or listen to below.
