PATCH MAKER: Rita
LOCATION: Macclesfield
MESSAGE:I support Extinction rebellion with their aims to get action now to combat climate change so I have added their symbol to show time is running out. The green trees signify my childhood innocence growing up on a hillside farm with sheep grazing happily and my message is life now. I struggle to cope in the summer sometimes when it is extremely hot and fear what it will be like if it continues to get hotter. I know our manmade damage is already affecting the planet now and am fearful for the future.
This project has so far introduced me to people from St Michael’s church who kindly let me join them and they provided me with details about the coat of hopes. I shared this idea with the Macclesfield XR group and met up with some people to do our patches together at the Community Artspace and have shared details of the Camino to Cop to various people too who hope to meet up on Tuesday evening when the coat arrives, so through this project which I heard about it at the monthly town market, the message has spread and interest grown from one conversation to many.
