Patch 047

PATCH MAKER: Anne
LOCATION: Milton keynes
MESSAGE:
The scales represent the balance, equality and justice we need to strive for.

The words are taken from verse 13 of 1 Corinthians 13:

"And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."

The materials used all have meaning for me:

The background is the fabric I am using to re-cover a chair which I was given when I was 16; it's important to re-use where we can, to preserve scarce resources.

"faith" - this is the fabric I used to make the curtains at church. My faith tells me that I have a responsibility to steward the earth and its resources, which are a gift from God.

"hope" - this is some fabric I used to make a dress for my daughter when she was small. It's a reminder that we hold this earth for future generations.

"love" - this is embroidered on my wedding dress fabric. It was made by my Mum with love and represents a very special day for me. Loving others, looking outward and not in on ourselves, wanting the best for others.
