MESSAGE:

Thinking about my home and my place in the community, I decided to create a patch that reflects the history of my town and what I have learned since I have lived here.

I live in Witney which is the home of the once world famous Witney Blankets. Since moving here in 2014 I have learned some of the traditional crafts that were used to create those famous blankets. I have learned to process the fleece from a sheep, spin it to make yarn and then weave the yarn to make fabric. Through doing those things I have made friends and found my place in the community.

My patch is made from my own hand spun yarn that was woven and then felted to make a blanket. The heart was made in the same way and the stitching is also my own hand spun yarn
